Perhaps you’re……….
Feeling overwhelmed with grief or struggling to live with a loss such as a bereavement, the end of a relationship, or the loss of another aspect of your life
Finding it difficult to adjust to a change or a transition in your life
In a situation which feels all-consuming or you’re finding it difficult to accept how things have turned out
Feeling suffocated under the weight of your responsibilities, or by expectations that have been placed firmly on your shoulders
Feeling like you’re constantly trying to please others, but are finding little time to be who you really are, or to do the things you want to do
Worried that your relationships are full of conflict or always seem to follow the same pattern
My name is Mary Moverley and, as a Person-Centred Therapist, I aim to offer you the room to explore the issues which are causing you pain, helping you to bring the peace back into your life and to become the person you were always meant to be.
As a parent carer for over twenty years, I’ve witnessed and experienced first-hand the struggles and complexities of family life and I know just how heart-wrenchingly tough it can be. I have been actively involved in supporting parents of children with additional needs on a one-to-one and a group basis for many years and trained in counselling to empower me to use my experience to help others. I work with carers who are exhausted from constant battles to create the best life for their loved ones, and who would like to feel more in control of their own lives. Understanding how everyday responsibilities can feel suffocating and how guilt can arise at the occasional thought of ‘what about me?’, I support carers to find space to breathe again.
Face to Face Therapy
I am currently offering face to face sessions from a warm and comfortable therapy room, just a 5 minute walk from Spring Bank, close to the centre of Hull. Based in a dedicated counselling centre, the building is wheelchair accessible and Covid safety procedures are followed.
There is also free on-site parking.
Online Therapy
I offer session via Zoom (or another preferred video platform) so you are able to access counselling at home, in the office, or even in the car (as long as it’s parked safely!).
For Zoom sessions you will need a private space, a computer, laptop, tablet or smartphone, and a good internet connection.
Zoom therapy sessions are available across the UK.
Walk and Talk Therapy
Walk and Talk sessions take place in and around Beverley, at a pace set by you. We will discuss beforehand what type of ground surface you would be most comfortable walking on, and determine a preferred course of action in the case of the unpredictable British weather.
Gentle exercise and being amongst nature are well known factors that increase our endorphins, have positive effects on our wellbeing, and boost our self-esteem, sleep quality, and energy.
When you contact me by email or by text, I will contact you to arrange an initial no obligation telephone consultation free of charge. This will take approximately 15 minutes and will enable us to decide if we feel that I’m the right therapist for you.
Each session of counselling costs £40 and lasts for one hour. I accept payment by cash, cheque, or bank transfer before or at the beginning of each session.
I currently have some availability on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays.
I require 24 hours’ notice to cancel a therapy session, otherwise full payment may be required.
Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
